Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting on Monday evening to review the drinking water system in the cities of East and West Cairo. The purpose of the meeting was to assess preparations for the upcoming summer season. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority.
During the meeting, Engineer Ahmed Omran, Deputy Head of the New Urban Communities Authority for Utilities and Network/Station Maintenance Monitoring, delivered a presentation on the current status of the water system. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to meet the demands of cities in East and West Cairo during the summer, along with plans related to water supply sources.
The Minister also followed up on the status of the sewage system in the 10th of Ramadan City, including the industrial wastewater system. He discussed the initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of the wastewater network, as well as the status of the irrigation system in the city.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized the need for a clear vision and future plans to expand the system in order to accommodate the expected growth in these areas and ensure their water needs are met. He also stressed the importance of daily monitoring of the system to avoid any obstacles that could hinder the current water supply capabilities.
