Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, chaired a comprehensive meeting on Monday evening to review the 2024/2025 fiscal year plans for expanding and upgrading water supply and sanitation networks. The meeting was attended by officials from the ministry, the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, and the Regulatory Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumer Protection.

The Minister directed the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater and its subsidiaries to assess the needs and projects related to extending and strengthening water and sanitation networks in both urban and rural areas nationwide. He emphasized the importance of establishing technical and regulatory standards for these projects to maximize their reach, ensuring services are provided to the largest possible number of residents.
Lottery Dates Announced for 1,645 Housing Units in Eight Cities
In a related announcement, Minister El-Sherbiny revealed the schedule for public lotteries to allocate 1,645 housing units across various new cities.
Lottery Phases
The allocation will occur in two phases:
- First Phase: Sunday, November 24, 2024, focusing on units in 6th of October City and the following locations:
- 10th of Ramadan
- New Borg El-Arab
- New Rashid
- Al-Obour
- New Mallawi
- New Salhiya
- Second Phase: Tuesday, December 3, 2024, dedicated to units in New Mansoura City and will take place at the stadium in New Damietta City.
Lottery Details
The events will begin at 10:00 AM on both days, and participation will be limited to applicants with a confirmed booking receipt. To promote transparency, the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) will livestream the lottery on its official website, allowing applicants to follow the proceedings in real time, whether in person or remotely.
This initiative represents the Ministry’s commitment to delivering housing opportunities to citizens and ensuring fairness and transparency throughout the allocation process.
