Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held the regular meeting of the Higher Coordinating Committee with the attendance of deputies and assistants of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), as well as the heads of new city agencies. During the meeting, progress across the Authority and its agencies was reviewed. The minister emphasized the importance of these regular meetings in enhancing work efficiency and facilitating the exchange of experiences and best practices among the various new city administrations.
At the beginning of the meeting, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny noted that the main purpose of the gathering was to discuss several key topics, providing an opportunity to align ideas and goals, review the details of ongoing projects, and address the future vision. He also highlighted that this meeting serves as the primary communication channel with the heads of the city agencies for addressing challenges, proposing solutions, and evaluating the feasibility of various suggestions.
The minister stressed the importance of executing projects in line with the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi concerning the localization of industry, pointing out that there are dedicated bodies working toward this goal. He also underscored the need for city authorities to closely monitor ongoing projects and coordinate with relevant stakeholders. A directive was issued to establish a specialized unit within NUCA to follow up on procedures. Additionally, he reaffirmed that the heads of city agencies are responsible for evaluating the performance of contracting companies and ensuring adherence to safety and security standards.
The meeting also addressed the issue of resources and revenues. Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny stressed the need to maximize resources and control expenditures, with a directive to prepare a monthly financial report detailing revenues and expenses. Special focus was also given to the timely handover of housing units to buyers, along with the requirement to prepare a weekly report on unit deliveries.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed the topic of digital transformation, with instructions to accelerate the digitization of services provided to citizens.
