Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting to follow up on the progress of the development project for the Great Transfiguration site, located on the Land of Peace in Saint Catherine City, Sinai. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Housing, the Central Agency for Reconstruction, and representatives of the implementing companies.
The meeting addressed the progress of work on the construction of the Peace Square and Peace Building, and ensured that all project details were on track. Discussions also covered the development of the Wadi El-Deir area and the construction of the new eco-lodge “Al-Emtidad” in Wadi El-Raha, in addition to the creation of a hotel resort in the Zeitouna area. The Minister directed that all work must be completed within the specified time frame.
The Minister reviewed the ongoing work and supply timelines, stressing the need to address the observations made during the recent visit to the Zeitouna hotel resort project. He also emphasized the importance of completing all work related to landscaping and green areas, with regular monitoring of all activities.
The meeting also reviewed the status of the new Visitors Center (Reception Building), the development of the existing heritage center surrounding the Sacred Valley Mosque, as well as the renovation of existing shops, the construction of new commercial units, and the development of Wadi Al-Arbaeen. In this context, the Minister of Housing stressed the importance of promoting agriculture and expanding green spaces.
