Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, stated that Egypt has successfully improved the quality of life and living conditions for its citizens in recent years. His remarks were made during a press conference at the Cabinet headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
El-Sherbiny emphasized that the upcoming World Urban Forum will feature discussions on Egypt’s urban development, challenges related to urbanization, and the technological transformation of cities, with a particular focus on housing.
The minister highlighted the success of Egypt’s new cities projects, which have expanded the country’s habitable land area from 7% to 14%.
He also pointed out that the World Urban Forum presents a unique opportunity to showcase Egypt’s pioneering progress toward achieving sustainable development goals.
In addition, El-Sherbiny noted that Egypt has effectively resolved the issue of informal settlements over the past years, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s urban renewal efforts.
