Minister of Housing, Sherif El-Sherbiny, held a meeting to follow up on the wastewater system in the cities of East Cairo, which includes treatment plants serving several urban areas such as New Cairo and 10th of Ramadan City. The Minister reviewed projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency of treatment plants to cope with expected urban development, with particular emphasis on upgrading the treatment plant in New Cairo. He also reviewed progress in increasing the capacity of treatment facilities in 10th of Ramadan City to handle both domestic and industrial wastewater, in preparation for future phases of expansion, which will be launched once occupancy rates reach 80%.
Furthermore, the Minister followed up on the tertiary treatment systems for wastewater in New Cairo, 10th of Ramadan, and El Shorouk, in addition to the treatment plant project in the New Administrative Capital.
