Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held an extensive meeting to review progress on the tourist walkway project in Sheikh Zayed City. The meeting was attended by officials from the ministry, the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), and the Head of the Sheikh Zayed City Authority. This meeting comes as part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to monitor and advance developmental projects in Egypt’s new cities.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the project’s details, which aim to enhance and optimize the use of public spaces by creating designated cycling paths and areas designed for sports, social, and commercial activities. These initiatives are expected to significantly improve the quality of life for the city’s residents.
Engineer Marwa Hussein, Head of the Sheikh Zayed City Authority, stated that the project includes a range of components such as commercial malls, restaurant buildings, green spaces, and public seating areas. She noted that several of the malls have already been handed over to the designated companies and have begun operations. In parallel, systematic campaigns continue to remove all unauthorized encroachments and violations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister of Housing emphasized the importance of preserving the project’s modern and organized appearance and preventing any kind of encroachment on roads or sidewalks, as such infringements could negatively impact pedestrian and vehicle movement. He also instructed the continuation of daily campaigns to remove any obstructions and ensure that the areas surrounding the tourist walkway remain orderly and well-regulated.
