Housing Minister Follows Up on the Implementation of “Housing for All Egyptians” Units for Low- and Middle-Income Citizens

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on a number of residential projects under the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, which targets low- and middle-income citizens across various new cities. These projects come as part of the state’s efforts to provide suitable housing units that meet the needs of different segments of society.

During his field tours across project sites in New Obour, New Assiut, and New October (including Hadayek October and 15th of May City), the minister reviewed reports on completion rates and stages of progress.

He stressed the importance of accelerating implementation while adhering to the scheduled timelines, ensuring the highest standards of quality in construction and overall appearance. He also emphasized the parallel development of service facilities alongside residential units to ensure a fully integrated living environment.

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny explained that this initiative is part of the state’s plan to expand urban development and achieve sustainable growth by offering modern, fully serviced housing units that cater to all segments of society.

In a related context, officials from the Hadayek October City Authority conducted an inspection tour to follow up on one of the largest projects under the initiative, which includes 810 buildings totaling 19,560 housing units. The project also features a comprehensive range of service facilities such as a youth center, nurseries, sports fields, six commercial malls, a healthcare unit, and four schools. The officials also inspected another ongoing project that includes 607 buildings, part of the continued efforts to provide housing and meet rising demand.

In New October City, city authority officials visited the sites of approximately 14,000 units being implemented as part of the Green Housing Project under the initiative. The project is distinguished by the use of environmentally friendly building materials and designs aimed at improving energy and resource efficiency. During the tour, officials emphasized the need to adhere to approved specifications and enhance work quality.

In New Assiut, authority officials inspected progress on several projects that included general site coordination and interior and exterior finishing works of the ongoing residential buildings. The teams highlighted the importance of speeding up the completion of required works while maintaining high quality.

In 15th of May City, officials followed up on the implementation of the “Narges” and “Qornfol” (Lavender) projects within the initiative. The Narges project includes 465 buildings comprising 11,160 housing units, while the Qornfol project consists of 91 buildings providing 2,184 units. Officials stressed the need to adhere to specifications to meet citizens’ expectations and offer modern housing at affordable prices.

As for New Obour City, the inspection tour covered the implementation of the sixth phase, consisting of 125 buildings with a total of 3,000 units, as well as the progress in districts 15 and 16, which together contain 1,138 buildings offering more than 27,000 housing units. Efforts focused on monitoring infrastructure works, finishing stages, and public service facilities such as schools.

City officials also toured Green Housing developments in District 37, which includes 143 residential buildings, and discussed with contractors how current progress aligns with the scheduled timelines to ensure the completion of projects as planned.
