Housing Minister Follows Up on the Implementation of Development Projects in the Northwestern Coast

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting at the headquarters of the New Ras El-Hekma City Authority to follow up on the implementation of various development projects in the Northwestern Coast region. The meeting was conducted in cooperation with the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) and its affiliated agencies. Discussions covered several projects in New Ras El-Hekma City “Shams El-Hekma,” the western areas of Ras El-Hekma extending to Samala and Alam El-Roum, as well as the urban cluster west of El-Dabaa. Senior officials from the ministry, NUCA, and heads of relevant sector authorities attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, officials presented the Minister with a detailed report on the first phase of New Ras El-Hekma, which includes ongoing works such as the drinking water and irrigation systems, hotel and administrative offices, and stages of land delivery. Updates on the “Shams El-Hekma” area were also reviewed, highlighting the progress of road, water, and sewage networks, stormwater drainage systems, electricity infrastructure, and the construction of the collective cemetery wall designated for local residents. According to the master plan, the area will comprise a mix of residential and service zones, alongside commercial and investment activities, supported by a primary road network.

The Minister also discussed the implementation status of development works on lands affiliated with NUCA within the urban cluster west of El-Dabaa, including alternative plots for local residents. Progress on public utilities such as water and sewage networks, roads, electricity, and service buildings was presented to ensure the establishment of a fully serviced urban community that meets the needs of the population.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister emphasized the importance of accelerating the pace of work to complete infrastructure and utility projects in order to advance development in the Northwestern Coast region. He further instructed the preparation of periodic progress reports and called for unified efforts among different authorities to ensure implementation according to the set timetable and at the highest quality standards.
