Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, held a meeting to follow up on the status of drinking water and sanitation projects in Minya Governorate as part of the “Haya Karima” (Decent Life) initiative. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry and relevant companies, during which the progress of projects in 192 villages was reviewed. The Minister directed the rapid completion of the projects and the operation of completed facilities to serve local residents.
During the meeting, the implementation status of a wastewater treatment plant in Samalut and its associated lifting stations was presented. Minister El-Sherbiny instructed teams to accelerate the pace of work to ensure swift completion.
He also followed up on observations made during his recent field visit to Haya Karima projects in Minya. As a result, the Safaniya water station has now been put into operation, and filter washing is currently underway at the new Al-Adwa water station.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the progress of the Belhasa wastewater treatment plant, along with the hydraulic study for the drinking water network systems of Al-Adwa Stations 1 and 2.
