Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the development projects of the Marina tourist villages, the Mazarin Compound, and the Heritage City in New Alamein. He was accompanied by several officials from the ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority. During the tour, the minister monitored the progress of bridge upgrade works, where Bridge No. 3 in Marina 5 has been completed, and preparations for Bridge No. 4 are underway. The upgrades include expanding the lanes from 13 to 20 meters, creating parking areas, upgrading water pipelines from 150 mm to 300 mm, and replacing outdated communication lines with fiber-optic cables in coordination with Telecom Egypt.
The Minister of Housing also followed up on the ongoing development of entrances and gates to the Marina El Alamein Center. Entrance No. (2) has been completed as part of a comprehensive development plan. He emphasized the importance of completing landscaping work, installing lighting at the entrances, and removing waste to protect the environment. The minister inspected the progress at the Mazarin Compound in New Alamein City, which spans 700 acres, stressing the need for daily supervision and acceleration of implementation rates.
The minister also inspected works at the underground garage in the Heritage City, stressing the urgency of expediting this vital project, which covers 260 acres and includes key cultural and tourism landmarks such as the Roman Theater and a cinema complex. The Heritage City is considered a major landmark that reflects the architectural and cultural identity of the city. Additionally, the minister reviewed the preparations at the technology center in New Alamein City, which is scheduled to open soon to provide services to citizens.
