Housing Minister Directs New City Authorities to Implement Measures for Reducing Energy and Water Consumption

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, held a regular meeting of the Higher Coordination Committee, attended by ministry officials and heads of new city authorities via videoconference. The meeting focused on the importance of conserving energy and water resources in light of current developments, particularly the repercussions of the Iranian-Israeli military escalation.

The Minister of Housing instructed the heads of new city authorities to reduce energy and water consumption and to ensure the maintenance of lighting units. He also called for the dissemination of awareness materials through media outlets and social media platforms, encouraging citizens to adopt conservation practices.

He emphasized the importance of coordinating advertising and lighting efforts, as well as the preparation of daily reports to monitor ongoing efforts. The minister also reviewed the status of drinking water stations, highlighting the need to minimize losses, monitor consumption, and maintain station infrastructure. Additionally, he addressed the need to improve the wastewater management systems in the new cities.
