Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, chaired the meeting of the Supreme Coordination Committee, attended by ministry officials, deputies and assistants of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), as well as heads of new city authorities. The meeting aimed to monitor the workflow within the authority, develop mechanisms, and focus on enhancing cooperation and knowledge exchange between different city authorities to achieve tangible progress in performance.
At the beginning of the meeting, the minister stressed the importance of these regular gatherings as an opportunity to review ongoing projects, discuss future visions, and unify goals among various entities. He also highlighted the role of the meetings in strengthening direct communication with city heads to address challenges, discuss available solutions, study new proposals, and work on implementing them in line with development plans.
One of the key focal points of the meeting was the issue of resources and revenues. Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized the need to maximize resources and rationalize expenditures. He instructed city heads to present clear strategies for increasing revenues, in addition to surveying all vacant lands in each city and ensuring their optimal utilization. He also stressed the importance of delivering housing units to beneficiaries according to the set timelines.

The meeting also reviewed the importance of daily follow-up on project implementation and ensuring compliance with safety and security standards at construction sites. It also discussed the maintenance of main and internal roads, which helps reduce accidents and ease traffic flow. The minister underlined the necessity of upgrading road efficiency, maintaining public cleanliness, and removing waste to preserve a safe and healthy environment.
Preparations for the winter season were also addressed. The minister stressed the readiness of rainwater drainage systems and emergency equipment in each city to deal effectively with unexpected conditions. He also emphasized the need to ensure the efficiency of fire-fighting systems in administrative buildings, warehouses, and ministry-affiliated stations, while providing advanced alarm systems capable of rapid response during emergencies.
Regarding the land legalization file, the minister directed that all submitted requests must be carefully studied, with the necessary measures taken to hand over lands after completing infrastructure works. He emphasized the importance of speeding up the finalization of cases that have met all legal and administrative requirements to ensure broader community benefit and to enhance sustainable development operations.
