Minister of Housing and Utilities, Sherif El-Sherbiny, has announced new facilities for settling overdue financial dues, including a 70% exemption from late payment penalties upon full payment of arrears. These facilities apply to residential, professional, administrative, and commercial units, as well as villas affiliated with the Housing Finance Fund. The initiative will last for three months, from June 1, 2025, until August 31, 2025. This move is part of the Ministry’s strategic vision and follows directives from the political leadership aimed at easing the financial burdens on citizens.
Engineer Hesham Darwish, advisor to the Ministry, confirmed that these facilities are a response to citizens’ requests, providing them an opportunity to rectify their legal and financial statuses.
Darwish explained that the facilities cover residential, professional, administrative, and commercial units, as well as villas involved in legal disputes—provided that full payment of the unit price and all legal and administrative expenses is made. However, he clarified that the facilities do not apply in cases where the customer has filed a lawsuit against the Fund, unless the legal action is withdrawn. Additionally, units and villas with cancellation decisions or final court rulings are excluded from this initiative.
