Minister of Housing Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized the importance of accelerating work on infrastructure projects in New Suez City, including potable water, sewage (both domestic and industrial), roads, electricity, and telecommunications, in order to support comprehensive development.
He explained that the city boasts a variety of land uses—from residential projects such as the “Free Housing” initiative and the “Diarna” project, to the Ataqa industrial zone—necessitating advanced infrastructure to meet the needs of an investment-driven community. This will further enhance the city’s status as a promising destination for industrial, residential, and developmental growth.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny monitored the progress of several infrastructure projects in New Suez City, one of Egypt’s fourth-generation cities, which are being developed under the state’s plan to expand urban areas.
Meanwhile, Engineer Asmaa Makhlouf, Head of the New Suez City Development Authority, conducted a field tour to follow up on water and sewage projects in the industrial district, starting from the sewage treatment plant in the Ataqa area to the treated water reservoir. Makhlouf explained that these projects focus on utilizing treated water for irrigating green spaces and protecting the industrial zone from environmental factors, all while adhering to timelines and maintaining quality and safety standards.
Makhlouf and other officials also inspected additional sites across the city, including the “Diarna” housing project, which is considered a model for integrated housing units featuring high-quality design and services.
Makhlouf stressed the importance of ensuring the efficiency of fire alarm and suppression systems in administrative buildings and critical facilities, as well as the availability of modern equipment for rapid response. She also called for the swift review and resolution of land status adjustment requests, especially those that are fully compliant, and for the activation of the GIS system to ensure accuracy and efficiency in project execution.
