The National Housing and Building Research Center (HBRC) held a session on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, with the Federation of Egyptian Industries to discuss the “Egyptian Code for Protecting Industrial and Storage Facilities from Fire Hazards.” This code has been developed in collaboration with a group of experts and specialists from the center and relevant external entities.
This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, represented by HBRC, ‘s commitment to supporting industrial development and addressing the challenges faced by industrial facilities. It also aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the Egyptian government’s 2024-2025 / 2026-2027 program, significantly emphasizing industrial advancement in Egypt.
Attendees from various entities within the Federation of Egyptian Industries praised the efforts and high efficiency in preparing this code with precision and speed. They highlighted how the code aligns with the rapid developments in the industrial sector and contributes to strengthening Egyptian industry.
Dr. Mohamed Massoud El-Saadawy, Chairman of HBRC, emphasized that issuing this code is a national duty to achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030 and drive industrial development forward. He stated that the code aims to ensure the safety of industrial facilities from fire hazards with the required efficiency, encourage the localization of fire protection equipment, save foreign currency, and implement value engineering principles.
