Following the directives of the Minister of Housing, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, the Shorouk City Authority launched an intensive four-day campaign to remove building violations. The campaign aimed to preserve the city’s urban aesthetics and prevent illegal construction.
On the first day, 10 rooftop structures were removed from 17 targeted locations without issues. Additionally, many residents submitted reconciliation requests, and their payments will be reviewed. It was noted that those who did not apply for reconciliation or had their requests rejected would face further legal action.
The campaign targeted 15 properties, with five rooftop structures removed across different areas. On the second day, part of the roof of a commercial mall near the French University was dismantled in the presence of the Urban Development Police, as reconciliation was not approved in this case.
The Head of the Shorouk City Authority emphasized the importance of raising citizens’ awareness of urban laws and regulations. He also stressed the need to continue removal campaigns for all violations, ensuring strict action against offenders without leniency.
