Engineer Ahmed Mostafa, Head of the New Minya City Authority, inspected the ongoing operations of the drinking water and sewage system, including sewage and water networks and treatment plants. He emphasized the importance of cleaning and flushing the sewage networks, particularly in the “Ibni Baytak 3” area. He also directed the operations and maintenance teams accordingly. Furthermore, he requested a thorough review of the maintenance procedures for the main pumping station and the components of the water purification plant to ensure water quality. Additionally, he instructed the sanitation company to intensify labor and equipment efforts to regularly empty garbage bins.
The Head of the Authority followed up on the flocculant injection works being carried out to address leakages, stressing the need to adhere to proper procedures and intensify efforts. He monitored water quality at the laboratory and inspected the raw water intake, pressure pipelines, and maintenance chambers. He also visited Main Sewage Station No. 1, where he directed the operation of all pumps to review the safety of the works, valves, and discharge gates.
He then proceeded to Sewage Station No. 2, where he instructed the operation of the generators and made observations that must be addressed within 12 hours, emphasizing the need to follow up on rectifying issues and hold any negligent parties accountable. He also inspected Sewage Station No. 3, emphasizing the maintenance of the main sump and the external strainer. He concluded his tour with a visit to the electricity network of the tourist district, underscoring the importance of resolving all network-related issues.
