Head of New Damietta Directs Intensification of Cleaning Efforts and Speedy Completion of Road Upgrading in the City

Eng. Ashraf Fathy Mahmoud, Head of the New Damietta City Authority, conducted an inspection tour accompanied by a team of officials from the authority to follow up on the residential neighborhoods and roads across the city. The purpose of the tour was to assess the general situation and monitor the commitment of cleaning, landscaping, and maintenance companies to the work plan and issued directives, ensuring the preservation of the city’s urban image and the improvement of services provided to citizens.

During the tour, the Head of the Authority stressed the importance of raising the level of execution by companies operating in cleaning, landscaping, and maintenance. He also instructed the supervision department to review the readiness of equipment being used, in addition to addressing illegal encroachments. Furthermore, he requested a review of commercial store operation licenses in various neighborhoods to ensure compliance with regulatory laws.

As part of his efforts to maintain order and the urban image of the city, the Head of the Authority affirmed that strict legal measures will be taken against any violations of planning lines or green areas, in order to protect state property and eliminate random practices.

The tour also included an inspection of road paving and upgrading works in the industrial zone, where the Head of the Authority emphasized the necessity of adhering to approved schedules and specifications in carrying out works, supporting sustainable development and facilitating smooth traffic flow in the area.

In another context, the Head of the Authority inspected ongoing maintenance work for green spaces in coordination between the Agriculture and Development Departments. These works included collecting agricultural waste, intensifying planting and tree cultivation within green areas, as well as maintenance efforts across different neighborhoods, public spaces, and green islands throughout the city.

He further issued directives to intensify cleaning activities to preserve the environment and the city’s urban image, while calling on residents to cooperate in maintaining the achievements of recent development works. He also stressed the importance of seriously addressing any negative practices to preserve the city’s architectural and cultural character and to strengthen ongoing development efforts.
