Eng. Mohamed Mostafa, Head of the 6th of October City Authority, conducted an inspection tour to monitor progress on the 26th of July Corridor project. Accompanied by the Authority’s deputy heads and department managers, the tour focused on the road expansion works beneath the monorail, starting from the intersection with the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road to the Wahat Road intersection, passing through both 6th of October and Sheikh Zayed cities. The project aims to increase the road’s capacity, improve traffic flow, enhance asphalt quality, and upgrade traffic guidance and warning systems to ensure user safety.
Eng. Mohamed Mostafa affirmed that the road development project in the city seeks to enhance traffic movement in response to population growth and urban expansion. He noted that all relevant authorities are cooperating to ensure the project’s success within the specified timeline.
On his part, Eng. Radi Khalil, Deputy Head of the Authority for Roads, explained that the project involves widening the road, increasing the number of traffic lanes, and establishing safe pedestrian crossing points—all while adhering to the highest safety and security standards. This initiative is part of the ministry’s broader efforts to upgrade infrastructure and develop the road network in alignment with the state’s vision for sustainable development.
At the end of the tour, Mohamed Mostafa stressed to the agriculture and sanitation departments the importance of quickly completing their work in the already developed sectors. He also emphasized the importance of adhering to the set timelines, noting that closely monitoring the execution of works according to plan ensures project objectives are met on schedule and reflects the effort made to deliver the best services to citizens.
