Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced the launch of the second phase of the largest housing project implemented by the ministry at the beginning of next October. This project includes around 400,000 housing units, which will be offered exclusively through the Official Egyptian Real Estate Platform, as part of the state’s efforts to enhance digital transformation in the housing sector.
The minister explained that this step comes in line with the directives of the political leadership, aiming to provide diverse housing units for citizens through a modern system that ensures transparency and fairness. It also simplifies booking and follow-up procedures for both residents inside Egypt and Egyptians living abroad. This reflects the continuous development in managing the housing sector.
During a meeting that included platform officials and several senior ministry leaders, discussions were held regarding the progress of establishing the Official Egyptian Real Estate Platform. This initiative seeks to promote Egyptian real estate internationally and attract foreign investment. The platform will gather and categorize listed properties, presenting them through a unified electronic system that supports multiple languages and currencies. It will focus on building a strong infrastructure to ensure easy access to data and smooth, secure transactions.
The Official Egyptian Real Estate Platform serves as a digital hub providing integrated electronic services for citizens and investors through its official website: www.realestate.gov.eg. The platform offers a constantly updated database, enhancing efficiency in the real estate market while linking it to global markets. It also provides online booking options for housing units and enables fee payment via the internet, supporting the state’s plan for urban expansion and digital transformation.

The minister also spoke about the Unified National ID System for Properties, which is currently under implementation. This project aims to document and organize property data accurately, helping to ensure fairness in ownership and better regulation of the real estate market. He confirmed that the project is receiving direct attention from the Cabinet due to its importance in improving urban planning and enabling strategic decision-making based on accurate data.
The minister concluded the meeting by stressing the importance of accelerating the implementation of real estate-related electronic platforms, as well as developing the necessary legislative and technical environment to support these efforts. The ultimate goal is to make it easier for citizens to obtain suitable housing and to enhance the attractiveness of the Egyptian real estate market for foreign investors.
