Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, the Minister of Housing, followed up on the implementation of several service and development projects in Obour City. These include the construction of a new hospital with a capacity of 189 beds and a crafts workshop complex comprising 76 workshops. The projects also involve road and utility infrastructure upgrades. The minister emphasized the importance of on-site supervision to ensure project execution meets the required standards and to prevent any recurrence of violations.
Engineer Ahmed Rashad, Head of the Obour City Development Authority, conducted a field inspection of the new hospital located in the Toba area. The hospital spans 17,000 square meters and features multiple departments including intensive care units and operating rooms. Rashad also inspected the crafts workshop complex located in the First Industrial Zone, which consists of 76 workshops and a service building housing a cafeteria, a prayer room, and retail shops. He stressed the importance of maintaining high construction quality.
Rashad confirmed that road and pavement development continues in the Eighth District to improve the city’s infrastructure. Furthermore, the city authorities have launched campaigns to combat violations in coordination with security agencies. These efforts led to the identification of building violations in several districts, resulting in legal action and the confiscation of equipment. Additionally, executive departments carried out an operation targeting scavengers, leading to the seizure of 11 tricycles and 4 tuk-tuks, as well as the removal of street obstructions in the Second District and the First Industrial Zone.
