Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, announced that the Prime Minister has issued a decision to extend the deadline for submitting reconciliation requests for certain building violations for an additional six months, starting from May 5, 2025. This decision comes in accordance with the new Reconciliation Law No. 187 of 2023 and its executive regulations, as part of the state’s efforts to ease the process for citizens and take social aspects into consideration.
Dr. Awad emphasized that this decision reflects the political leadership’s keenness to give the largest possible number of citizens the opportunity to settle their legal status, especially in light of the increasing number of reconciliation requests submitted recently.
The Minister of Local Development also clarified that the Ministry will follow up on the implementation of the decision in coordination with governorates, ministries, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth operations in technological centers and to provide all necessary facilitations for citizens.
Awad urged citizens to promptly head to the technological centers across the governorates of the Republic to submit their reconciliation requests and complete the required documents so that technical committees can make their decisions, allowing citizens to benefit from the Reconciliation Law before the new deadline ends.
