Eng. Bassam Mohamed Fadl, Head of the Shorouk City Authority, announced the launch of a plan to enhance road efficiency, increase pedestrian crossings for determined people, and establish a dedicated bicycle lane in the city. This initiative aligns with efforts to improve the quality of services provided to residents.
Fadl pointed out that the current plan focuses on developing significant roads such as (the Western Road, the Middle Road, the Youth Road, and the Eastern Road) along with all squares. He also emphasized the importance of providing pedestrian crossings in front of stations, schools, and commercial centers for people of determination across all roads, alongside establishing a dedicated cycling lane.
The head of the authority stressed the necessity for the road administration and executing companies to complete the efficiency enhancement works by the required specifications and quality as quickly as possible.
In the same context, Eng. Bassam Mohamed Fadl announced the commencement of the asphalt binding layer for internal roads in Ahmed Orabi Street from the Middle Road, noting that this project responds to the requests of city residents.
Additionally, the head of the Shorouk City Development Authority explained that work has begun on pedestrian sidewalks in front of buildings and around service areas, highlighting that these efforts fall within the city’s road efficiency improvement project.
