On Thursday, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted a field visit to follow up on the ongoing work of the “Sakan Misr” housing project in the Exhibition Grounds area of New Cairo. He was accompanied by several officials from the ministry, the New Urban Communities Authority, and the city authority, as part of efforts to monitor projects and accelerate execution rates.
The Minister of Housing stressed the importance of speeding up the completion of service projects, site coordination, and the ongoing finishing work in some buildings within the project. He also emphasized the need to address any issues to ensure that units are delivered on schedule and to provide all necessary comforts for residents.
During his inspection of the “Sakan Misr” project, the minister reviewed the execution status of the project, including the number of units that have been delivered and those remaining, according to the delivery plan. He also visited one of the housing units scheduled for handover and underlined the importance of delivering these units to citizens in a manner befitting the stature of the Ministry of Housing.
El-Sherbiny met with several residents who had booked units in the “Sakan Misr” project. He responded to their request by inspecting the area and instructed the city authority to coordinate and fulfill their demands. He also directed that work be intensified in several zones and that residential areas be well lit.
Engineer Abdelraouf El-Ghaity explained that the project consists of 364 buildings, with construction of the buildings completed and work ongoing on utilities and roads. He noted that 160 buildings have been announced as ready for delivery. The project also includes a medical center and a nursery, with a primary school under construction and commercial shops currently being offered.
