Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held an extensive meeting last night to review the progress of projects implemented by the ministry under the presidential “Decent Life” initiative for developing rural Egypt. The meeting was attended by heads of sectors and affiliated entities within the ministry.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Housing outlined the ministry’s vision for completing the current projects under the initiative, emphasizing the need for a clear timeline specifying the completion dates for each entity responsible for projects in the “Decent Life” villages.
The minister also directed that all implementing companies be evaluated to assess their capabilities and ensure efficient project completion in the coming period. He stressed the importance of excluding companies that are lagging or unable to fulfill their tasks. Additionally, he called for enhanced cooperation between different ministry entities, particularly in projects that have achieved significant progress. Furthermore, he urged the swift operation of completed projects and the handover of finished service buildings to the relevant authorities to begin operations, ensuring that the targeted villages benefit from these developments.
The Minister of Housing instructed that project implementation be closely monitored, with intensified field inspections and biweekly meetings. He also highlighted the necessity of increasing reliance on locally produced materials for project execution, especially within the framework of the “Decent Life” initiative.
During the meeting, the minister listened to input from officials of the affiliated entities regarding the projects’ execution and financial status and the necessary coordination to expedite their completion.
