Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has issued directives to establish a timeline for completing the second phase of the drinking water purification plant project in 6th of October City as quickly as possible, emphasizing the importance of regular follow-up on all related works.
The Minister also held a meeting with officials from Mokhtar Ibrahim Company to review the implementation status of the second phase of the purification plant, which has a capacity of 400,000 cubic meters per day. This expansion aims to increase the station’s production capacity to meet the growing developmental needs and support rising occupancy rates across the October cities.
El-Sherbiny stressed the need for continuous monitoring of the status of the West Cairo station, underlining the urgency of progressing with the second phase. He also emphasized tracking civil and electromechanical works. The meeting covered the ongoing construction details, the main pipelines of the station, and the areas it serves. It also addressed the implementation status of the buildings for water, chlorine, and diesel tanks, as well as the pump hall, with a review of progress rates and the delivered equipment.
