President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi today hosted Mrs. Sarah Al-Zaafrani, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tunisia, at Al-Ittihadiya Palace. The official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic stated that President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for President Kais Saied, highlighting his significant efforts in leading reform initiatives, boosting economic growth, and supporting sustainable development in Tunisia.
For his part, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy noted that the meeting addressed ways to strengthen the distinguished relations between Egypt and Tunisia on both official and popular levels, with a focus on enhancing joint cooperation across various fields. The talks coincided with the 18th session of the Joint Higher Committee in Cairo, which serves as a strategic platform to deepen cooperation and explore new areas of integration, particularly in trade and investment sectors, to the benefit of both peoples.
The meeting also discussed a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern, underscoring the importance of coordination between the two countries to address regional challenges and work toward resolving ongoing crises. In addition, both sides agreed to encourage the private sector in both Egypt and Tunisia to implement joint projects in Africa, thereby enhancing the regional role of both nations.
During the meeting, the Tunisian Prime Minister conveyed President Kais Saied’s invitation to President El-Sisi for an official visit to Tunisia. On the other hand, President El-Sisi renewed his invitation to the Tunisian President to attend the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, scheduled to be held in November 2025.
