Minister of Housing, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, chaired the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Support Fund to discuss the implementation of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative and its related files.
The minister explained that since President El-Sisi took office, the state has focused on providing suitable housing units for youth and low-income citizens within fully serviced communities. He stressed that the initiative is the largest global project dedicated to affordable housing, covering all governorates as well as both new and existing cities.
The initiative has also expanded to include middle-income housing units, aiming to meet the needs of different social segments.

During the meeting, Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Fund, presented the latest updates on the Fund’s work under the initiative, along with a report on Article (8) of the Rental Law, in preparation for submission to the Cabinet.
The Ministry of Housing has started receiving applications from eligible tenants to obtain alternative housing units beginning in October 2025, with a three-month application window through the online platform or local post offices.
