Engineer Sherif El-Sharbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has issued 13 decisions to remove encroachments and building violations in several areas under the jurisdiction of the development authorities of New Obour City, New Port Said “Salam”, Sadat City, and New Damietta.
This step comes as part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to eliminate building violations, preserve the distinctive architectural character of new cities, and confront encroachments on state-owned property.

The minister affirmed that the Ministry of Housing’s agencies will continue to confront and remove building violations within new cities and urban communities. He stressed the importance of conducting regular campaigns aimed at reducing unplanned practices and maintaining the civilised appearance of these cities.
He also pointed out that there are clear directives to city authority heads and officials to uphold their responsibilities in this area, with the goal of protecting the urban standard and the quality of services provided to citizens.
The recorded violations included the construction of buildings with various activities, heights, and areas; erecting fences; increasing built-up ratios; constructing concrete columns; and casting roofs for unlicensed floors — all without obtaining the required permits or any legal authorization.
