Engineer Sherif El Sherbini, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, has confirmed the provision of suitable incentives to tourism development and investment companies to expedite the completion of hotel rooms and units in ongoing projects. This move is part of an effort to accommodate the rising number of tourists visiting the country.
Accelerating Hotel Room Completion
The minister emphasized the importance of completing hotel rooms and units swiftly, given the growing demand in the tourism sector. He pointed out that these incentives are designed to support tourism companies in meeting deadlines and ensuring that they can cater to the influx of tourists effectively.
Utilizing Solar Energy for Hotel Operations
Additionally, Minister El Sherbini highlighted the potential of making certain backland areas available to tourism development and investment companies. These areas could be used for constructing solar power stations, which would generate renewable energy for hotel and tourism facilities. This initiative aligns with Egypt’s broader strategy to promote the use of new and renewable energy sources as part of the country’s commitment to sustainability.
General Authority for Tourism Development Meeting
These announcements were made during a meeting of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Tourism Development. The meeting included the approval of the final accounts and financial position of the Authority. It also focused on discussing proposals to incentivize the rapid completion of hotel units in tourism development projects. Several other topics related to tourism development projects were reviewed, and the necessary decisions were taken.
These efforts reflect the Egyptian government’s commitment to enhancing the tourism sector by providing a favorable environment for investment and focusing on sustainable energy solutions for long-term growth.
