Engineer Sherif El-Shorbiny, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has reviewed the measures being implemented by the New Aswan City Authority as part of the city’s digital transformation plan. He emphasized the need for the swift and comprehensive activation of this digital initiative.
During his visit, Minister El-Shorbiny listened to presentations from city officials detailing the steps taken to implement the digital transformation strategy. They highlighted the establishment of a central network within the authority’s building, which connects the citizen service technology center with the Ministry of Planning to facilitate electronic services. Additionally, a link has been created with the New Urban Communities Authority for services related to drinking water and billing collection. An electronic platform offering various services, along with applications for developers and citizens, has also been developed.
The minister held a meeting at the New Aswan City Authority headquarters to monitor the progress of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians,” the riverbank projects, and other developments. He urged the timely completion of a 158-bed hospital project to provide essential medical services and directed officials to create a specific timeline for enhancing the efficiency of the tilled bridge road.
Furthermore, Minister El-Shorbiny received a briefing from Engineer Ahmed Abdel-Azim regarding the status of various sectors in the city, ongoing projects, and the city’s financial standing, including revenues and expenses. He instructed officials to intensify the investment opportunity offerings until 2030, enhance the city’s attractiveness, improve collection rates of financial dues, and maximize returns from the advertising system.
