Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting on Tuesday evening with contractors and project officials responsible for the development of the “Greatest Manifestation” site in Saint Catherine. The meeting, held at the ministry headquarters, followed the minister’s recent inspection visit to the site and was attended by officials from the ministry, the Central Agency for Reconstruction, and project consultants.
Minister El-Sherbiny emphasized the project’s significance, stating that it is under the direct supervision of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The initiative aims to develop this globally unique site, renowned for its religious and spiritual significance, into a destination accessible to visitors worldwide. The project focuses on sustainable development, environmental preservation, and showcasing the area’s natural and cultural heritage in a manner befitting its unique global status.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed the detailed timelines for each contractor and reiterated the importance of accelerating work, increasing manpower and equipment, and adhering to strict schedules. He called for full coordination among all stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.
El-Sherbiny expressed concern over delays observed during his site visit, particularly regarding the mountain lodge and environmental inn projects. He urged contractors to show significant progress within ten days, focusing on landscaping, site coordination, and expediting mosque construction in the heritage village. Additionally, he called for immediate improvements in the Olive Zone.
Weekly progress reports will be prepared to monitor ongoing activities and evaluate the project’s overall performance.
Contractors assured the minister of their commitment to increasing workforce and equipment, implementing clear plans, and ensuring steady progress across all project components.
