Egypt and Bahrain Explore Opportunities for Enhanced Cooperation

On Tuesday, Engineer Sherif Shorbagy, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, received Her Excellency Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, the Bahraini Ambassador to Cairo, at his office in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting aimed to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Bahrain.

Minister Shorbagy emphasized the deep and robust relationship between Egypt and Bahrain, highlighting significant investment opportunities in various fields, particularly in the new cities, including Fourth Generation cities such as the New Administrative Capital, New Alamein, and New Mansoura.

The Minister also expressed Egypt’s readiness to share its extensive experience in urban development with Bahrain, focusing on smart new cities that embody sustainability principles and enhance residents’ quality of life. Additionally, he noted Egypt’s advancements in water and sanitation infrastructure, including seawater desalination, which has seen considerable progress recently.

In response, Ambassador Zainal expressed Bahrain’s interest in leveraging Egypt’s urban development experience to achieve its own development goals. She praised Egypt’s urban development model as rich and pioneering, deserving admiration and recognition.
