Egypt Advances Alamein New City’s Development with Housing, Service, and Entertainment Projects
The Egyptian government, represented by the Ministry of Housing, is actively progressing the development of Alamein New City, focusing on residential, service, and entertainment projects. According to Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Alamein New City is one of the fourth-generation cities, strategically located on one of the most desirable areas of the Mediterranean coast. The city is poised to become a year-round destination for both international and local tourism, offering a diverse range of housing options for all social segments and a full array of services that ensure a high quality of life for its residents and visitors.
The Minister highlighted the ongoing work, noting that finishing touches are being applied to 15 towers in the beach area. In addition, another set of eight towers is under construction, with interior and exterior finishes currently underway on several of them. The commercial and entertainment area, centrally located among the beachfront towers and directly overlooking the sea, has already been operational. This area includes numerous retail stores and a parking garage with a capacity of thousands of vehicles.
El-Sherbiny also pointed out another major tower project in Alamein New City, the Downtown Towers, being constructed by the Chinese company CSCEC, similar to the Central Business District towers in the New Administrative Capital. The project features an iconic 250-meter-tall tower with 68 floors and four additional towers, each standing 200 meters tall with 56 floors. The Alamein Crystal Lagoon, surrounded by these towers, is also under development. This lagoon will include several islands and a variety of recreational and commercial activities to serve the city’s residents and visitors, encircled by a tourist walkway, rivaling similar projects worldwide.
