Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, emphasized the importance of expediting the implementation of the presidential initiative Housing for All Egyptians and road, agricultural, and development projects in New Sohag City. The goal is to deliver housing units to beneficiaries, launch new units, and improve the services provided to residents.
The Head of the New Sohag City Development Authority and authority officials inspected the progress of 1,356 housing units under the Housing for All Egyptians project in the city. The inspection tour included monitoring interior and exterior finishing works and utility installations. The Minister stressed the need to adhere to the designated timeline and complete the project by the highest quality standards.
Additionally, the Head of the Authority inspected the rehabilitation and paving of major roads, including the road extending from the banking area to the wholesale market and the road leading to the industrial zone. Roads connecting to the new housing project in the 735-acre area were also included in the inspection to enhance infrastructure and improve road quality.
The tour also covered landscaping and beautification efforts along Airport Road and the city’s southern entrance. These works include installing a modern irrigation network, planting trees and flowers, and adding benches, pergolas, and decorative lighting poles. The Minister directed an acceleration of work to complete the project before Eid Al-Fitr. Additionally, emphasis was placed on maintaining cleanliness at the city’s entrances and main streets and ensuring the maintenance of electrical installations to guarantee the safety of poles and wiring.
