Development and Upgrade Plan for the Central Service Axis in 6th of October City

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the progress of the development and upgrade plan for the Central Service Axis in 6th of October City, from its intersection with the 26th of July Corridor to its intersection with the Middle Ring Road.

In this context, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny explained that this step comes within the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which aim to develop the road network and improve infrastructure quality. This contributes to creating an attractive environment for investment and maximizing the use of land. He also stressed the need for rapid execution while adhering to quality and standard specifications.

Development and Upgrade Plan for the Central Service Axis in 6th of October City

For his part, Engineer Mohamed Mostafa, Head of the 6th of October City Authority, pointed out that this development complements the West Cairo Monorail Project, which is being implemented by the National Authority for Tunnels. The goal of the development work is to increase the road’s capacity by adding more traffic lanes, which will help improve traffic flow and reduce congestion, in addition to organizing and increasing parking spaces along the road’s route.

The Head of the 6th of October City Authority added that the development plan includes improving the quality of the current asphalt, solving traffic intersection issues, and providing additional lanes.

The Head of the Authority also announced an urban improvement project for the road’s landscape, which includes adding trees to enhance aesthetics and provide shade, in addition to upgrading the lighting system. Engineer Mohamed Mostafa confirmed that the project is part of a comprehensive plan to enhance the city’s road efficiency in cooperation with the relevant authorities. On his part, Engineer Radi Khalil clarified that the development follows green road sustainability principles, focusing on minimizing the impact of implementation on traffic movement.
