Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, has directed the development of the 26th of July Corridor in the 6th of October City, starting from its intersection with the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road to its intersection with the Wahat Road. This development is part of President El-Sisi’s directives to improve the national road network. The project aims to increase the road’s capacity from four to six lanes, enhancing traffic flow. Additionally, the development plan includes improving asphalt quality, providing dedicated cycling lanes, and enhancing guidance and warning elements to ensure user safety.

Engineer Radi Khalil, Deputy Head of the 6th of October City Authority for Roads, explained that the road development work includes widening the road and increasing the number of traffic lanes, in addition to improving services on both sides of the corridor by upgrading entrances and exits and establishing safe pedestrian crossing points. He also emphasized the application of traffic safety and security standards to ensure operational efficiency and minimize the impact of construction on traffic movement. This project is part of the ministry’s efforts to improve infrastructure and develop the road network in line with Egypt’s vision for sustainable urban development.
