Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting to review the latest developments regarding the wastewater system in the city of Dahab. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry’s Utilities Sector, representatives of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, and the head of the North and South Sinai Water and Wastewater Company.
During the meeting, Dr. Ismail reviewed a report submitted by the North and South Sinai Company on the status of sewage pumping stations, the current treatment plant, and the impact of the system on areas adjacent to the Red Sea. He emphasized the importance of accelerating efforts to upgrade the efficiency of the existing plant in accordance with the established timeline.
The Deputy Minister also discussed the safe disposal system for treated water, stressing the need to expedite the required coordination in this regard. He highlighted the importance of adhering to standards and laws governing treated water, noting the role of advanced tertiary treatment technology in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of wastewater management processes.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Ismail directed that on-site implementation be closely monitored, with regular reports provided on progress according to the points discussed. He expressed his appreciation to the executive bodies for their efforts, while stressing the importance of adhering to the agreed-upon schedules to ensure tasks are completed within the designated timeframe.
