Mohamed El-Homsany, the official spokesperson for the Cabinet, confirmed that the government is working to provide the most significant number of social housing units for low- and middle-income citizens. He explained that the Minister of Housing and the Engineering Authority had directed the formation of a task force to study the details of the announcement, including the locations of the targeted units, pricing, payment methods, and unit sizes.
Regarding the date for the launch of new housing units for low- and middle-income citizens, El-Homsany stated in a televised interview that the number of residential units will reach 400,000. All details will be announced, and the units will be available after Eid al-Fitr.
El-Homsany also mentioned that some units are ready for immediate handover. In contrast, others are expected to be completed within a maximum of two years—a feature that may not be available in the real estate market.
