Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, confirmed that coordination is underway with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Communities, headed by Dr. Sherif El-Sherbiny, to implement a series of projects in the drinking water and sanitation sector across the governorate. This comes in response to directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and under the supervision of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, with the aim of improving the quality of services in this vital sector.
This was stated during the Governor of Aswan’s visit to follow up on the work being carried out by the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation. The authority’s efforts focus on increasing the capacity and efficiency of manholes connected to the main line of Station (11) in the Al-Korour area, south of Aswan. The goal is to resolve recurring overflow issues caused by outdated manholes.
The Aswan Governorate issued a press release on Wednesday clarifying that the governor inspected the work accompanied by Deputy Governor Eng. Amr Lashin, Governor’s Assistant Yasser Abdel Shafi, officials from the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, and representatives from the Arab Contractors Company. Dr. Ismail Kamal stressed the importance of collaboration among the various entities involved to accelerate the implementation of urgent solutions for the drinking water and sanitation network in the Al-Korour area, using scientific methods that include deepening manholes and adjusting the slopes of certain pipelines.
