Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, announced that the Social Housing Fund has completed screening applications for housing units under the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians 5” for low- and middle-income citizens. Starting from March 18, 2025, applicants will receive text messages informing them of their application status and the next steps.
Mai Abdel Hamid, the fund’s CEO, confirmed that the screening process was conducted efficiently. 762,000 citizens applied, 589,000 made down payments, and 571,000 registered on the official website.
As previously announced, the CEO also emphasized that text messages will be sent to individuals who paid the initial deposit but could not register on the website during the announcement period. These applicants can register and upload the required documents within the specified period. Their records will also be reviewed, and those who do not meet the eligibility criteria will have the right to file an appeal within the same period.
Additionally, the CEO stated that citizens whose applications do not meet the initiative’s requirements will be notified after the appeal period ends. They can withdraw their deposits via the postal service within 14 days from the rejection announcement date. Later, the fund will prioritize eligible applicants according to the criteria approved by the Cabinet, as outlined in the application booklet. Those who do not fall within the priority list will be notified to withdraw their deposits via the postal service within 30 days from the announcement date.
