The Ministry of Housing announced that the appeals process has officially ended for applicants whose requests were rejected due to owning an electricity meter—considered a violation of eligibility requirements.

First: Next Steps After the Appeals Window Closes

  • The ministry will now begin prioritizing eligible applicants according to the criteria approved by the Cabinet to determine who will receive available housing units.

  • Starting Thursday, May 29, 2025, SMS messages will be sent to all applicants—both those who meet the criteria and those who do not—using the phone numbers provided in their applications.

Details of the SMS Messages to Clients:

  1. Clients within the Priority for Ready-to-Deliver Units:
    Initiation of background checks and immediate file processing.

  2. Clients within the Priority for Units to Be Delivered Within 36 Months:
    Start paying the quarterly installments according to the designated schedule.

  3. Clients Outside Project Priority:
    Refund of reservation down payments via post offices within 30 days, while retaining priority status for future announcements—provided they meet the updated requirements.

  4. Clients Who Do Not Meet Any Eligibility Criteria:
    Refund of down payments via post offices within 14 days, with the possibility of applying again in the future—on the condition that disqualification is not due to property ownership, income limits, or age restrictions.

  • Verify that your registered phone numbers are correct to receive the messages.

  • Keep the SMS notifications as an official reference.

  • Failure to withdraw refunds within the specified period may result in loss of priority for future applications.

  • Adhering to the new procedures will expedite unit allocation and ensure eligibility for government subsidies.
