Engineer Ashraf El-Samaligi, Head of the New Nubaria City Development Authority, announced the implementation of a campaign to detect and disconnect illegal water connections in several areas, including the “Ebni Beitak” neighborhood, the 960 Area, and the Agricultural Investment Zone. The campaign led to the discovery of illegally installed connections, and the necessary legal measures were taken against the violations.
El-Samaligi emphasized that the authority will continue to organize regular and surprise inspection campaigns across various areas to confront violations. He called on citizens to commit to installing prepaid meters and to ensure legal water usage. This effort aims to promote fairness in resource distribution and to protect the state’s assets.
In the same context, Engineer Yasser Abdel Halim Hassan, Head of the Sadat City Development Authority, reported the execution of a campaign to collect outstanding payments from consumers. The campaign also included disconnecting illegal connections and removing meters associated with high debts, following the appropriate procedures. A portion of the overdue amounts from previous periods was successfully collected on the spot.
Hassan affirmed the continuation of these campaigns and the authority’s round-the-clock field presence to monitor and address violations related to water connections. He added that any encroachments on this vital utility will be removed and that efforts are ongoing to collect state dues.
