Campaigns to Address Violations and Collect Utility Dues in Sadat and New Minya Cities

Authorities in the Sadat and New Minya City Development Authorities conducted campaigns to collect overdue water payments, remove encroachments, and shut down non-compliant activities. The efforts were carried out in coordination with the Urban Development Police, following directives from Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, aimed at maintaining public utilities and ensuring high-quality services for residents while safeguarding state resources.

In Sadat City, a specialized committee led a broad campaign in the industrial zone, coordinating with the local Urban Development Police department. This campaign resulted in the collection of over EGP 220,000 from factories, with warnings issued to several facilities in the 7th Industrial Zone. These entities were given 24 hours to settle their dues, with legal action threatened in cases of non-compliance.

Eng. Yasser Abdel Halim Hassan, Head of Sadat City Authority, emphasized the importance of regular campaigns to monitor and address illegal water connections, remove encroachments, and recover overdue payments. He highlighted ongoing efforts to achieve 100% installation of water meters across all projects in the city. Public awareness campaigns are also being conducted to encourage residents to maintain public utilities and infrastructure.

Sadat City residents were urged to formalize their contracts, settle overdue payments, and report violations via the 24-hour hotline 15100.

In a separate campaign targeting residential violations, authorities shut down and sealed 12 illegally repurposed basements in the 10th and 15th residential zones. These spaces had been used for unauthorized commercial activities, such as furniture showrooms, tutoring centers, and workshops. Eng. Abdel Halim reiterated the commitment to continuous monitoring and legal action against offenders to preserve the city’s aesthetic and legal order.

Meanwhile, in New Minya City, Eng. Ahmed Mostafa Mohamed, Head of the Development Authority, spearheaded a campaign against businesses operating without valid licenses. Key areas targeted included Zamzam Mall and Youth Mall in the Fourth District, focusing on bakeries, restaurants, and retail shops. The campaign emphasized the importance of adhering to public premises regulations and quickly acquiring the necessary permits to prevent unauthorized activities.

Eng. Ahmed Mostafa underscored that these efforts aim to address violations early, preserve the city’s organized appearance, and foster a model urban environment. He highlighted the city’s commitment to upholding laws and ensuring that urban development aligns with aesthetic and functional standards.
