Minister of Housing and Utilities, Sherif El-Sherbiny, announced the formation of emergency teams in new city authorities to prevent building violations during the Eid al-Fitr holiday and to immediately address any infractions. Additionally, the operation of public utilities will be closely monitored to avoid malfunctions, with coordination between teams to ensure services are provided regularly.
The minister also directed an intensification of cleanliness efforts and the maintenance of public gardens in cooperation with relevant authorities to ensure citizens’ comfort. In this regard, the head of the New Cairo City Development Authority, Abdelraouf El-Ghaiti, announced the formation of an emergency task force to oversee the operation of public utilities and prevent violations, along with activating an operations room for rapid intervention when necessary.

A rapid intervention committee was formed under the leadership of the security director and the deputy head of the authority to tackle illegal construction and other violations. Additionally, a hotline (15100) has been provided to receive complaints 24/7. Engineer Marwa Hussein, head of the Sheikh Zayed City Authority, directed an increase in cleanliness campaigns, garbage collection from streets and parks, and the inspection of street lighting poles to prevent electric shock incidents. She also emphasized mosquito control to ensure a healthy environment during Eid al-Fitr. Furthermore, she confirmed the presence of an emergency team to monitor public utilities during the holiday and stressed the importance of coordination with the Construction Police to combat and remove illegal buildings.
During an inspection tour, Engineer Ashraf El-Samaligi ensured the smooth operation of utility stations, emphasizing operational efficiency, equipment maintenance, and the readiness of maintenance teams to handle malfunctions. He also called for intensified inspection rounds to ensure work continuity during the Eid holiday. Additionally, he noted an increase in field monitoring to prevent construction violations, citing an illegal structure detected in an agricultural investment area, which led to the formation of a committee for its immediate removal. He issued directives to strengthen inspection campaigns throughout the holiday.
