Engineer Sherif El Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted an inspection tour to review the ongoing bridge renovation projects and green space enhancements, in addition to following up on the development of entrances and gates in the Marina El Alamein Center. He was accompanied by several officials from the ministry, the New Urban Communities Authority, and the heads of the New Alamein and Tourist Villages Authorities.
During his tour, Minister Sherif El Sherbiny received a detailed briefing on the green space development efforts, which align with the state’s plan to expand green areas in the implementation of the COP27 conference recommendations. These efforts are part of broader climate change mitigation initiatives and aim to restore Marina El Alamein Center to its former status as a leading tourist destination on the North Coast.
In a statement, the minister confirmed that he is closely following the progress of the bridge renovation works. He noted that work is nearly complete on Bridge 3 in Marina 5, while preparations are underway to finish Bridge 4 after the summer season. These upgrades fall within a comprehensive plan to expand and enhance all major routes within the Marina, particularly Route 22, which serves as a vital transport artery for the area. The development work includes widening the road from 13 meters to 20 meters, creating parking areas, and upgrading water pipelines from 150 mm to 300 mm to increase capacity. In coordination with Telecom Egypt, outdated communication lines are being replaced with fiber optics to align with the overall development efforts in Marina El Alamein Center.
The Minister of Housing also inspected the development of entrances and gates for Marina “1, 4, and 5,” which are nearing completion following the successful upgrade of Entrance No. “T2” to Marina El Alamein Center. This entrance upgrade represents the first phase of the broader plan to enhance all access points and gates to the Marina El Alamein tourist center.
