Assistant Minister of Housing Meets with Newly Appointed Egyptian Ambassadors Abroad to Showcase Urban Development Efforts

Dr. Abdel Khalek Ibrahim, Assistant Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities for Technical Affairs, met with a group of newly appointed Egyptian ambassadors abroad as part of the state’s efforts to enhance communication between ministries and diplomatic missions. The meeting served as an opportunity to highlight the exceptional urban development achievements Egypt has witnessed in recent years.

During the meeting, Dr. Abdel Khalek presented a comprehensive vision of Egypt’s urban development projects, outlining the long-standing challenges the country has faced, especially rapid population growth and its impact on infrastructure and public services. He also discussed the national strategic plan aimed at doubling the inhabited area of Egypt from 7% to 14% of the country’s total area. This goal is to be achieved through the establishment of new urban centers designed to meet population needs and improve the quality of life for all citizens.

The Assistant Minister explained that the ministry is diligently working to develop the urban environment through an inclusive and sustainable approach. This includes implementing integrated urban projects across various regions of the country. He emphasized that the National Housing Strategy is a fundamental pillar of these ambitious efforts.

The meeting also addressed initiatives to attract real estate investments from both foreigners and Egyptians living abroad. These efforts include diverse programs such as “Your Home in Egypt,” which offers a variety of housing unit options in fourth-generation cities like the New Administrative Capital, New Alamein, New Mansoura, and New Suez. Additionally, the “Beit El Watan” program caters specifically to Egyptians abroad.
