Engineer Mohamed Abdel-Maqsoud, Head of the New October City Development Authority, announced the commencement of 494 residential units within the Diyarna Middle-Income Housing Project in response to the growing housing demand in the city. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Housing’s efforts to implement thousands of additional units under the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, which aims to provide affordable housing for low- and middle-income citizens.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring to ensure the swift execution and high-quality completion of the projects.
Major Housing Expansions in New October City
Engineer Mohamed Abdel-Maqsoud highlighted that New October City is witnessing extensive housing developments, including constructing 90,000 residential units in the West Airport area, covering 2,800 feddans. Additionally, 14,000 units have been announced under the Green Housing Project, which seeks to establish environmentally friendly residential communities.
The estimated cost of these housing projects is approximately EGP 60 billion, while infrastructure projects are expected to cost around EGP 17 billion, reflecting the significant efforts to develop the region.
Infrastructure and Project Monitoring
Engineer Mohamed Abdel-Maqsoud stressed the importance of monitoring the progress of water, sewage, and road networks to ensure compliance with the designated timeline and the timely delivery of housing units.
Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny called for intensified efforts from executive bodies and contractors to remove any obstacles hindering progress while adhering to the highest quality standards. This aligns with the state’s vision of providing modern, advanced housing that meets citizens’ needs.
