Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Support Fund, affirmed that the “Housing for All Egyptians” program reflects the state’s commitment to achieving social justice. She noted that women account for 24% of the beneficiaries of the available housing units, demonstrating real support for the role of women in society.
Abdel Hamid added that the program gives special attention to citizens with disabilities, with 5% of the total units allocated to them. This falls within a comprehensive plan that ensures the provision of suitable housing environments for all groups without exception.
She pointed out that self-employed individuals and workers in the informal sector represent 71% of the total beneficiaries, indicating an expansion of support to include social segments that previously lacked appropriate housing solutions.
She confirmed that the fund operates through financing mechanisms supported by subsidized interest rates covered by the Ministry of Finance, aiming to ease the financial burden on citizens and ensure affordable repayment terms that align with their incomes.
